Holiday Gifts #1 – Reindeer Ornament (Adorable + Zero Craft Stress!)

This reindeer ornament is always a class favorite because it’s cute, quick, and perfect for little hands.

Materials:

  • Clear plastic ornament bulb
  • Brown construction paper (cut into small pieces)
  • Pipe cleaners (brown)
  • Googly eyes
  • Red pom-pom or sticker for the nose
  • Hot glue (teacher-use only)

How to Make It:

  1. Have students fill their plastic bulb with small pieces of brown construction paper. This gives the ornament a fun textured look.
  2. Twist a pipe cleaner into antlers (or two smaller pieces if easier!) and attach them to the top of the ornament.
  3. Students glue on the googly eyes and red nose.
  4. Add ribbon or twine to hang it on the tree.

Why Parents Love It: It’s charming, sturdy, and adorable. Plus, it makes the perfect “Rudolph” addition to any Christmas tree.

Holiday Gifts #2 – Popsicle Stick Window Ornament (A Tiny Holiday Scene!)

If you want a gift that lets students get creative, this window ornament is a beautiful option. The best part? No two will look alike. You can also make this fit different holidays or have it just be a winter decoration with no holiday tie.

Materials:

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Cardstock
  • Construction paper (various colors)
  • Glue
  • Twine

How to Make It:

  1. Glue four popsicle sticks into the shape of a window frame.
  2. Cut cardstock to fit behind the frame—this becomes the “view.”
  3. Students use small pieces of construction paper to create a holiday scene: snowy hills, trees, lights, gifts, winter sky—you name it!
  4. Glue the scene to the back of the popsicle-stick frame.
  5. Add a loop of twine so it can hang as an ornament.

Why Parents Love It: It’s a sweet snapshot of your students’ creativity and imagination. It also makes a lightweight, easy-to-store keepsake.

Holiday Gifts #3 – DIY Holiday Coaster (A Keepsake Parents Will Actually Use!)

This gift looks fancy but costs less than a dollar per student—thank you, Home Depot tiles! This is another activity that could take a winter theme instead of focusing on a specific holiday.

Materials:

  • Home Depot ceramic tiles (usually around 16¢–20¢ each)
  • Student-designed holiday picture (I got these pictures from TPT – Its MoNiques World Shop)
  • Mod Podge
  • Foam brush

How to Make It:

  1. Have students create a small holiday illustration on regular paper. (You can even shrink student photos or artwork to fit the tile size!)
  2. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the tile.
  3. Place the student’s picture on top.
  4. Add another coat of Mod Podge over the picture to seal it.
  5. Let it dry completely.

Optional: Add felt squares to the back to protect furniture.

Why Parents Love It: It’s durable, meaningful, and functional—one of those gifts that actually gets used long after the holidays.

Final Tips for Smooth Gift-Making

  • Prep in advance: Pre-cut paper and have materials ready in stations.
  • Label everything: Parents will cherish having names and dates on the back or bottom.
  • Send home wrapped: Even a simple paper bag decorated by students adds excitement!

With minimal supplies and maximum charm, these three projects will make your holiday planning easier—and make parents smile.
